Dominion Finance Alerts Public to Fake Facebook Loan Scam
Dominion Finance Pte Limited is warning the public about a sophisticated Facebook scam targeting potential loan applicants. The fraudulent scheme involves a fake Facebook page impersonating the legitimate financial institution and soliciting sensitive personal information from users.
Sudeshwar Ram, General Manager - Lending and Business Development at Dominion Finance, confirmed the scam's operation. The fake page lures users by requesting personal details and then redirects them to a fraudulent website designed to mimic Dominion Finance's official online presence.
Once victims provide their information, they receive what appear to be genuine loan offer letters. However, these letters contain instructions to make payments via M-PAiSA to fictitious account numbers. This final step completes the scam, resulting in financial loss for the victims.
Dominion Finance emphasizes that it does not operate a Facebook page and urges the public to exercise extreme caution when interacting with unsolicited online requests for personal or financial information. The company advises individuals to only engage with Dominion Finance through its official website and verified contact channels. Authorities have not yet released information regarding arrests or ongoing investigations related to the scam.
