HARMAN Sells DTS Business to Wipro, Eyes Automotive Tech - lifestyle news

HARMAN International Industries, a brand specializing in lifestyle audio and automotive technology, finalized the sale of its Digital Transformation Solutions (DTS) business to Wipro Limited on Tuesday. The deal, announced previously, received all necessary regulatory approvals, paving the way for the transaction to close.

Wipro, a global information technology, consulting, and business process services company, acquired DTS, which provides digital transformation solutions to various industries. The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed in the official announcement.

HARMAN stated that this divestiture allows the company to sharpen its strategic focus on its core businesses: automotive and connected car solutions, and premium audio for both consumer and automotive markets. The company has been increasingly investing in advanced automotive technologies, including software-defined vehicles and over-the-air updates.

HARMAN's automotive division is a significant player in the industry, providing infotainment systems, connected car services, and other technologies to major automakers worldwide. The company’s audio division includes brands like JBL, Harman Kardon, and Revel, known for their high-quality sound systems.

Wipro’s acquisition of DTS is expected to bolster its digital transformation capabilities and expand its presence in key markets. The integration of DTS's expertise into Wipro's existing portfolio is anticipated to provide clients with enhanced digital solutions and services.
